Received towards the end of the day: "Just finished the big reception - zillions of toasts! Students were brilliant - they performed a poem a dance and then the song"

  " Students have just returned from their 3 day stay with their host families.
  It all went really well."

• 20th July 2007 - Journal page opened - currently some replication of the news photos. Awaiting more information and / or photos

The Forbidden City is visited - students are extremely impressed. Many photos have been taken. Travelled to Jinan by train.

First greetings message received.

• 18th July 2007

Message received early on the 18th (UK time):

"Arrived safely in Beijing. Changed money and have visited Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City. We have also consumed a 9 course lunch(!) Now off to hotel feeling tired but in good spirits."

• 17th July 2007 The group gather together just prior to departure from Birmingham airport.

• 15th July 2007. The Itinerary for 2007's visit is published on the web site.
